In the words of Hannah Montana - "Nobody's Perfect." If you don't know the reference then you didn't have a childhood and go take a listen... you're welcome ;) It's so corny but so true. If anything that's what I've learned these past few weeks. Nothing and nobody is perfect no matter how they may appear on instagram or snapchat. Everyone has their good days and bad days. And thats okay. It's okay to ugly cry and ugly laugh and some days you'll have people to ugly cry with and some days you'll have nobody. AND THATS OKAY.
So why am I saying this? Lately, I've started to learn~ slowly but surely~the importance of self-love. (Notice I didn't say being conceited, there's a difference.) You have to love yourself first imperfections and all. When you accept who you are and are comfortable with yourself, then you will be the best version of you.
The truth is: Belonging starts with self-acceptance. Your level of belonging, in fact, can never be greater than your level of self-acceptance, because believing that you're enough is what gives you the courage to be authentic, vulnerable and imperfect.
