Fold Over.

Have you ever wondered why off-the-shoulder tops, dresses, and sweaters were also called bardot tops? omg same. (if you didn't say yes, this is awkward lol.)

Basically, the style was influenced by the outfit worn by the famous French actress, singer, and fashion icon Bridgett Bardot at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival. You learn something new every day ;) #FashionFactsbyDEMIB

This "bardot" trend is one that sneakily found its way into fall -- we'll see whether or not it get carried into winter, but I doubt it. Why? because wearing off-the-shoulder tops with a jacket is quite arguably the hardest and most uncomfortable thing ever. Don't believe me? try it. You either awkwardly pull it up so it can kind of sit like a regular top under your jacket OR you have to leave it the way it is and have a clump of fabric sitting weirdly under you armpit. Its a lose lose situation unless there's some life hack I don't yet. If there is pleaseeeee let your girl know.

But hey, maybe off the shoulder jackets are the next hot item? but then like, your shoulders would literally freeze..

Hellloo beautiful people!!

This post is going to be a quickie -- why might you ask? Because I have a NUC 273 [Mechanics of Materials] exam tomorrow that I'm stressin' about. I needed a quick study break before my brain exploded so what better way to relieve some stress than a new post. ;)

Anyway, with absolutely no warning from Indiana, it's finally feeling like fall (tbh dangnear winter) here in West Lala which gave me the perfect reason to bust out the jackets. Motorcycle jackets [aka Moto Jackets] are a fall wardrobe staple and I'm obsessed with this one from Tobi.com

ps. They currently have 50% off their entire site... you're welcome :)

fallin for you.

If you read my last post, it's no surprise to you that I'm in love with fall... but there's one thing that I don't really like about this oh so beautiful season. I'm about to be honest with you all please don't judge.

Drumroll please...I'm not a huge fan of the PSL. For those of you who are unaware of what that is, its Starbucks' popular fall-time drink, the drink of the season, THE Pumpkin Spice Latte.

After soooooo much hype, last year I finally I tried this drink that seems to be in every girl's hand during fall. I was so excited, like realllly excited. Why might you ask? I thought it was going to be this life changing experience. Everyone that I talked to seemed to be head over heels for this PSL. It was nearly impossible to talk about fall and this drink not come up in conversation. So when I took a whole half sip and decided the PSL wasn't for me I felt like  a fraud. Is fall really even my favorite season?

To be honest, I have no clue why I thought I would like it because I'm not the biggest pumpkin fan....at all. lolz. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for pumpkin patches and picking the perfect pumpkin to carve, but eating? nah.

I don't even know how this Pumpkin Spice trend started, but I think it's safe to say its gotten out of hand -- here are a few of my fav Overdone Pumpkin Spice treats:

1) Pumpkin Spice dog treats

2) Pupmkin Spice air freshener

3) PSL Makeup Highlighter [lol I had to link this so you didn't think I was kidding]

4) PSL Shampoo/ Conditioner

5) PSL Burger King Burger [only in Japan TGod]

Winter, Spring, Summer, PSL. 'Tis the season ladies + gents -- I hope you enjoy the Pumpkin Spice season ;)

Sweater weather, bonfires, and pumpkin spice everything -- Fall is approaching and I honestly couldn't be happier...

We are a whole 7 days away from the official first day of fall and I couldn't be any more excited. Fall is hands down my favorite season...hands down. Even though here in the midwest and it lasts for a whole 2 weeks, this is the time of year that I live for. The chunky scarves, layering, and sweater weather? It's all music to my ears.

4 REASONS WHY I LOVE FALL

1. It's not too hot or too cold.

I'm totally just not a summer girl. Don't get me wrong I love the beach and the lake but I just can't really handle the heat. My favorite thing about summer is knowing that fall is just around the corner. Spring? Wayyyyy too much pollen and bees (FYI ever since I was stung behind my ear in the 4th grade, I'm terrified of bees). Winter? I'm a winter baby and I'm so proud, but after living in the Midwest, winter has kind of been ruined for me. [Plus, no one can see your cute 'fit underneath your huge parka. sigh]

2. You can still wear ripped jeans.

If you wear ripped jeans during the winter months, you will legit freeze your knee caps off. But with fall, you can keep wearing them and your knees will stay in tact. For that, I am forever thankful.

3. It's acceptable to start drinking hot chocolate.

I never have been and never will be a coffee girl. I'm more of a tea and hot chocolate type of gal, so during the summer, I just look weird walking around when everyone is drinking/ordering their iced coffee drinks and all I ever drink is Earl Grey Tea / Lipton English Tea (with hazelnut coffee creamer and sugar-- try it, it's going to change your life)

4. FALL FASHION IS BAE.

There is no other fashion season that makes me more happy than fall. I don't know how to explain the feeling or why I feel that way, but I just do.

Although I was sent this denim from James Jeans, all opinions are my own. <3

sporty chic.

I'm not really a believer in sticking to one certain "look" or style. If you've got a certain color palette you go with, I get it because I'm the exact same. I love black, white, nudes, and navy and I try to stay away from bright, bold colors, but when it comes to a certain look, I'm all over the place. One day its boho, the next preppy, then maybe a little sporty chic (even though I'm the least sporty person you'll probably ever meet).

Moral of the story? Dress however you feel like in the morning. Let your mood determine what look you're going for. For me, this is how my brain works when I'm picking out an outfit no joke:

"Wow I should workout this morning." (15 minutes later) "Ehhhhh not feeling it." So what to I do? I decided that dressing with a sporty flare would be as close to working out as I'd get. Let me break down this fit and you tell me thats it's not basically workout gear.

Top: It's a bodysuit from zara which is basically a leotard. If you didn't know ballerinas wear these when they dance -- and dance is a workout)

Pants: Are they jeans? Yes. Do they feel like jeans? Nope. ;)  I'm not lying when I say these jeans feel like leggings and what do most people wear when they workout? Leggings. (Reason 10000283749 why I love my James Jeans.

Shoes: I'm not going to lie, these are the only pair of proper workout sneakers I have, and I'd be lying if I told you I bought them for workout purposes.
